Can I use a tri-walker outdoors?
Yes. Most lightweight aluminium tri-walkers handle smooth outdoor surfaces like pavements and flat paths well. For rough or very uneven ground, a four-wheel rollator with larger tyres may suit you better.
What should I look for in a tri-walker?
Consider the brakes (cable brakes to slow down, lock brakes to stand still), adjustable handle height and the frame material. Lightweight aluminium is easier to lift and transport than steel, and tyre size matters for comfort.
Tri-walker or four-wheel rollator?
A three-wheeled walker is lighter and narrower, ideal for manoeuvring indoors and on smooth surfaces. A four-wheel rollator is broader, more stable on uneven ground, and usually includes a built-in seat.
How is a tri-walker different to a Zimmer frame?
Zimmer frames have no wheels and must be lifted with each step. A tri-walker rolls forward naturally, which makes moving less tiring, especially if you manage fatigue or reduced upper-body strength.
